The
550th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev
was celebrated with religious fervor in a special assembly conducted in the
morning where in students presented a Prabhat Pheri casing the relevance of
Prakash Utsav and also a brief description about the life of Guru Nanak was
also shown.
It
is also a day for remembering the teachings of Guru Nanak who laid the
foundation of Sikhism as well as a reminder to the devotees to follow his
teachings and to overcome the vices of lust, greed, attachment, anger and pride
and to devote one’s life in selfless service of God.
Students
also spoke about the three guiding Principles of Guru Nanak Dev- Naam Japana,
Kirat-Karna, Vand Chhako which is to be followed by a devout Sikh in his life.
